Counter Drive Gear

Disassembly





1. Clamp special tool in vise (1) and place counter drive gear onto the special tool.
Special tool (B): 09927-76040





2. Unstake lock section of lock nut and remove lock nut using special tool.
Special tool (A): 09927-26010





3. Remove angular ball bearing from counter drive gear (1).

NOTE: If inner race of angular ball bearing remains on counter drive gear, remove it using gear puller and special tools.

Reassembly





1. Press new angular ball bearing (1) into counter drive gear (2) using special tool.
Special tool (A): 09951-46010
2. Temporally tighten new lock nut.





3. Clamp special tool in vise (1) and place counter drive gear onto the special tool.
Special tool (B): 09927-76040





4. Tighten new lock nut using special tool until starting/rotation torques will be specifications below with push-pull gauge or the like.
Special tool (A): 09927-26010
Specified value of lock nut starting/rotation torques
Starting torque: 0.05 - 0.25 Nm (0.005 - 0.025 kgf-m, 0.037 - 0.180 ft. lbs.)
Rotation torque: 0.05 - 0.15 Nm (0.005 - 0.015 kgf-m, 0.037 - 0.108 ft. lbs.)





5. Stake new lock nut (2), using standard punch in combination with hammer.

NOTE: When staking lock nut, point a suitable staking tool (1) toward axis center shaft (3) and stake lock nut securely as shown in the figure. (Poor staking may cause abnormal noise.)
