Clearing Trouble Codes
DTC ClearanceAs A/T DTC is stored in memory of ECM and TCM respectively, be sure to clear it from both ECM and TCM by using either method "A" and "B" or "A" and "C" of the following 3 methods.
A. To clear DTC stored in ECM.

B. To clear DTC stored in TCM by using SUZUKI scan tool
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Set Mass Storage cartridge to SUZUKI scan tool and connect scan tool to DLC.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Clear DTC according to instructions displayed on scan tool.
NOTE: DTC and freeze frame data stored in ECM memory are also cleared in the following cases. Be careful not to clear them before keeping their record.
- When power to ECM is cut off (by disconnecting battery cable, removing fuse or disconnecting ECM connectors).
- When the same malfunction (DTC) is not detected again during 40 engine warm-up cycles.
C. To clear DTC stored in TCM without scan tool
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. After 6 seconds or more, repeat shorting and opening between A/T diag. switch terminal (1) and ground terminal (2) 5 times at about 1 second intervals within 10 seconds, using service wire (3).
4. Check TCM that no malfunction DTC remains in memory of it.
