Gear Shift Control Lever
Removal
1. Remove parking brake lower cover and console box.





2. Remove E-rings (2) and clips (3) from shift and select control cables (1).
3. Remove gear shift lever assembly.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure for installation and note as follows.





^ Adjustment of shift cable.
With shift lever in NEUTRAL position, adjust shift cable adjusting nut (3) so that distance "a" between edge of instrument panel (1) and center of shift knob (4) measured as shown.

NOTE:
^ After shift cable adjustment, tighten lock nut (5) securely.
Tightening torque
Lock nut (a): 6 Nm (0.6 kgf-m, 4.5 ft. lbs.)
^ Make sure that boots are installed correctly.
Distance between edge of instrument panel and center of shift knob "a": 137 mm (5.4 inch)





^ Adjustment of select cable.
With shift lever in NEUTRAL position, adjust select cable adjusting nut (1) so that front side end surface (A) of select arm (4) and rear side line of rib (3) (B) are aligned.

NOTE: After select cable adjustment, tighten lock nut (2) securely.

Tightening torque
Lock nut (a): 6 Nm (0.6 kgf-m, 4.5 ft. lbs.)
