Throttle Body Removal and Installation

Throttle Body Components

Throttle Body On-Vehicle Inspection

Removal

1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Drain cooling system.
3) Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle valve lever.
4) Remove engine cover referring to Engine Cover Removal and Installation.

5) Remove air cleaner outlet hose (1).





6) Disconnect couplers of TP sensor (2) and MAF sensor (1).
7) Disconnect coolant hoses (3) and breather hose (4) from throttle body.





8) Remove throttle body from intake manifold.

Installation

Throttle Body Cleaning
1) Clean mating surfaces and install throttle body gasket to intake manifold.

Use new gasket.





2) Install throttle body to intake manifold and tighten bolts and nuts.
3) Connect coolant hoses (3) and breather hose (4).
4) Connect couplers of TP sensor (2) and MAF sensor (1).





5) Install air cleaner outlet hose (1) and clamp securely.





6) Install engine cover referring to Engine Cover Removal and Installation.
7) Connect accelerator cable (1) and adjust each cable play to specification.





8) Refill cooling system.
9) Connect negative cable at battery.
