CONDITION:
A moaning, groaning or rotational scraping noise may be heard from the rear brakes when the brake pedal is not applied. This low frequency noise is most noticeable at low speed during cold conditions when the vehicle has been parked overnight or for a long period of time.

CAUSE:
The spring force of the rear brake pad guide spring.

CORRECTION:
First properly inspect the brake system. If there are no abnormal brake component conditions or wear items replace the rear brake pad guide springs with the updated part listed below. Follow the appropriate Service Manual procedure to replace the rear Pad Springs.
