VERONASection Title: Engine
TSB No. TS 07 01266R2
Division: Automotive
Category: Technical
SUBJECT:
ECM REPROGRAMMING FOR FALSE SLOW 02 SENSOR DTCS, EVAP
RELATED DTCS AND VARIOUS OTHER UNINTENDED DTCS
MODEL(S):
VERONA
YEAR:
2004-2005
REVISION:
The software that was released with the previously revised bulletin (TS 07 11 025R) on 11/02/2005 incorrectly added 05 MY DTCs to the 04 MY vehicles. 2004 MY vehicles with this software will display 2005 MY DTCs that are not described in the 2004 MY service information.
In addition, this revised software will eliminate several unintended evaporative emission control system DTCs that may appear in vehicles with the original ECM software. See CONDITION" for specific details and DTCs.
Please also note the defect code has been changed in the warranty claim information.
CONDITION:
The following three conditions may be present.
1. ECM software may produce unintended slow response 02 sensor DTCs (P0133 and/or P0153) or (P0139 and/or P0159).
2. ECM software may produce unintended Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected DTCs (P0442, P0455 and/or P0456).
3. 04 MY vehicle may show DTCs which are related to the Os MY vehicles. See attached DTC list.
CAUSE:
ECM software logic.
CORRECTION:
Using the appropriate service manual, verify the DTC using the troubleshooting chart to be sure the code has not been set due to an actual fault. Reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) on all vehicles in dealer inventory and at no charge on all customer vehicles that are brought into Suzuki dealerships for any reason. In addition, reprogram the 04 MY vehicles that were previously programmed with the original software downloaded with the wrong DTCs from Suzuki Pit Stop.
DTCs for MY 05 which may be stored in a MY 04

Reprogramming Procedure:
1. Log onto Suzuki Pit Stop.
2. Download and review the Suzuki Pass-Thru Reprogramming Tool Operator's Manual. This must be read and understood COMPLETELY before attempting to reprogram the ECM.
3. Following the procedure outlined in the Suzuki Pass-Thru Reprogramming Tool Operator's Manual, download and install the Pass-Thru Reprogramming Software "SOFTWARE.EXE" if it is not already installed.
4. Download the Suzuki Pass-Thru Reprogramming Data Base "DATABASE.EXE" onto your PC. Follow the procedure in Section 3.2 of the Operator's Manual to update the Database files. This step is only required to be done once to accommodate all vehicles covered under this TSB.
NOTE:
This Database "DATABASE.EXE" now has a version number. Please follow the instruction in the operator's manual to check the version installed in your computer.
5. Following the procedures outlined in the Suzuki Pass-Thru Reprogramming Tool Operator's Manual, hook up the SDS Interface Tool P/N 09910-06520 or 09910-06521 to the vehicle and run the ECM reprogramming software. If the message "[4028] ECU already has the latest version" appears, click "OK" and "Finish" and then continue to step 6.
NOTE:
If you believe the code "[4028] ECU already has the latest version" is false, check that the Database has been properly installed. See step 4 and try programming again. If after installing the Database properly code 4028 appears again, no further action is required.
6. Fill out the Reprogram Label P/N 99963-01501-224 (the part number and version will be displayed at the "The reprogramming is successful" screen). Then affix the label to the back of the glove box door as pictured.
