Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAP Canister Removal and InstallationRemoval
1. Hoist vehicle.
2. Disconnect purge hose (1), vent valve hose (2) and refuel vapor control valve hose (3) from pipes.
For quick joint, disconnect it as follows:
a. Remove mud or dust around joint by blowing compressed air, and push joint fully in arrow direction (a).
b. Disconnect hose joint while joint lock is unlocked by pushing both sides of joint (b).
3. Disconnect vent valve wire harness connector.
4. Remove EVAP canister with bracket (4) from vehicle.
5. Remove EVAP canister from bracket.
Installation
Reference: EVAP Canister Inspection
1. Install EVAP canister to bracket.
2. Install EVAP canister with its bracket (1) to vehicle.
3. Connect vent valve wire harness connector.
4. Connect purge hose, vent valve hose and refuel vapor control valve hose to pipes, and clamp then securely.
For quick joint, push joint into pipe till joint lock clicks.
