Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation
Removal
1) Hoist vehicle and remove wheels (right & left).
2) Remove stabilizer bar.
3) Remove suspension arms (right & left).
4) Remove engine rear mounting nuts and engine mounting member bolts (2WD vehicle).
NOTE:
^ For 2WD vehicle, be careful not to loose cushions (5) and spacers (4) which may stick to suspension frame (1).
^ For 4WD vehicle, support transmission to prevent joint parts from being applied excessive force at removal of suspension frame (1).
5) Remove suspension frame from body.
Installation
1) Install suspension frame (1) to body, and tighten bolt to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Suspension frame mounting bolts (a): 90 Nm (9.0 kgf-cm, 65.0 ft. lbs.)
2) Install mounting member (2), spacers and cushions to suspension frame (1) if removed and tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Mounting member nuts (b): 55 Nm (5.5 kgf-cm, 40.0 ft. lbs.)
Engine rear mounting nuts (9): 45 Nm (4.5 kgf-cm, 33.0 ft. lbs.)
3) Install suspension arms (2) (right & left).
4) Install stabilizer bar (3) .
5) Tighten bolts and nuts to each specified torque.
Tightening torque
Suspension control arm mounting bolts (c): 90 Nm (9.0 kgf-cm, 65.0 ft. lbs.)
Suspension arm ball joint nut (d): 60 Nm (6.0 kgf-cm, 43.5 ft. lbs.)
Stabilizer bar mounting bracket bolts (e): 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-cm, 17.0 ft. lbs.)
Stabilizer link nuts (f): 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-cm, 17.0 ft. lbs.)
6) Install wheels (right & left) and lower hoist.
7) Confirm front wheel alignment.
