Front Seat
Front Seat Removal and InstallationFront Seat Components:
WARNING:
^ Be sure to read Precautions on Service and Diagnosis of Air Bag System:Advanced Air Bag, before starting to work and observe every precaution during work.
Neglecting them may result in personal injury or inoperative of the passenger side air bag (inflator) module if necessary.
^ Never attempt to disassemble or repair the passenger side seat adjuster including weight sensor. If abnormality is found, be sure to replace it with new one as assembly.
Removal
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2. Remove console box.
3. Remove front side sill scuff.
4. Disable air bag system referring to Disabling Air Bag System:Advanced Air Bag.
5. Disconnect seat harness connector (if equipped) and side air bag connector (if equipped).
6. Remove 4 adjuster bolts to remove seat assembly.
7. Disassemble and repair seat as necessary.
Installation
1. Install front seat assembly and tighten four adjuster bolts with specified torque.
NOTE: Be sure not to enter foreign substance to mating surfaces of seat adjuster and vehicle body.
Tightening torque
Front seat adjuster bolt: 35 Nm (3.5 kg-m, 25.5 ft. lbs.)
2. Connect seat harness connector (if equipped) and side air bag connector (if equipped).
3. Install front side sill scuff.
4. Install console box.
5. Connect negative cable to battery.
6. Enable air bag system referring to Enabling Air Bag System:Advanced Air Bag.
7. For passenger seat installation, perform following procedure.
a. Perform air bag system check referring to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag.
b. Perform occupant classification system rezeroing referring to Occupant Classification System Rezeroing:Advanced Air Bag.
c. If passenger seat is disassembled, perform occupant classification system sensitivity check referring to Occupant Classification System Sensitivity Check:Advanced Air Bag.
