SUBJECT:
NO FUEL PUMP PRIME BEFORE START UP

CONDITION:
The fuel pump prime function is eliminated. The pump does not run for two seconds when the ignition switch is turned to run.

CAUSE:
The latest ECM calibration has eliminated the fuel pump prime function. This is not a defect in any fuel system component.





CORRECTION:
When testing for fuel pressure the engine must be cranking running or the pump must be activated with the misc. tests option of the Tech 2. Only then can the fuel pump and circuit be tested for functionality.
