Engine Control Module (ECM) Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Remove the battery.




2. Remove the ECM bracket nuts.

3. Disconnect the ECM connector.




4. Remove the ECM retaining nuts and the ECM.

Installation

NOTE: If ECM is replaced with new one (VIN data is still not registered) or with used one (VIN data of other vehicle has been registered previously), make sure that re-register VIN in ECM by performing VIN Registrations that VIN can be read by a scan tool.

1. Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.




2. Install the ECM.

Tighten: Tighten the ECM retaining nuts to 10 - 14 N.m (89 - 124 lb-in.).




3. Tighten the ECM bracket nuts.

Tighten: Tighten the ECM bracket nuts to 10 - 14 N.m (89 - 124 lb-in.).
