Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear Knuckle, Wheel Bearing / Oil Seal Removal and InstallationRemoval
Once bearing outer race is removed, bearing set (outer race, bearings and inner races) should be replaced with new one.
1) Remove wheel hub.
2) Remove knuckle from vehicle.
3) Remove outside oil seal (1) and snap ring (2) from knuckle.
4) Remove inside oil seal (6) from knuckle (5).
5) Remove bearing outer race / inner bearing using special tool and hydraulic press.

Installation
When replacing bearing, inner race or outer race, be sure to replace them with new ones as a set.
1) Press-fit new bearing outer race / inner bearing (3) using special tools.

2) Apply grease (lithic grease) to bearing outer race and bearings.
3) Press-fit new inside oil seal (2) until special tool contacts with knuckle (1).
Be sure to apply grease (3) to oil seal lip.

4) Install snap ring to knuckle.
5) Press-fit new outside oil seal (2) until special tool contacts with knuckle (1).
Be sure to apply grease (3) to oil seal lip.

6) Install knuckle.
7) Install wheel hub.
