Occupant Classification System Sensitivity Check

1. Set passenger seat position as following.
a. Install headrest to seat back.
b. Move seat assembly to center position locked.
c. Position seat back into upright position locked.

NOTE: Confirm that passenger seat assembly is not contacting other parts.

2. Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
3. Turn ON ignition switch.
4. Select Data List mode on scan tool and confirm each weight sensor load value as follows.
a. Place 40 kg (88.2 lb) weight (1) on passenger seat cushion and record each weight sensor load value.
b. Take out 40 kg (88.2 lb) weight from passenger seat cushion and record each weight sensor load value.

The load values should be within specified value below. If either weight sensor load value is out of specification, repeat a) and b) a few times and if it is still out of specification, replace passenger seat adjuster including weight sensors.

Standard: 36.07 - 43.93 kg (79.52 - 96.84 lb)




Weight sensor load value when no load on passenger seat cushion

Standard: -1.2 - 1.2 kg (-2.64 - 2.64 lb)
