P0835
DTC P0835: Clutch Pedal Switch Circuit High VoltageCircuit Description
The clutch switch is a normally open switch with the clutch pedal released. The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a feed back voltage when the clutch switch is open. The ECM detects 0 V on the feed back circuit when the clutch switch is closed as the clutch pedal depressed. When the ECM detects the clutch pedal switch circuit is shorted to voltage, this DTC sets.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
- Ignition voltage is between 11 and 16 V.
- Vehicle speed is between 3 and 52 km/h.
- The ECM detects that the clutch pedal is depressed.
- The ECM detects no clutch pedal switch transition.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
- The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will not illuminate.
- The ECM will record operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. This information will be stored in the Freeze Frame and Failure Records buffers.
- A history DTC is stored.
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
- A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm up cycles without a fault.
- The DTC(s) can be cleared by using the scan tool.
- Disconnecting the ECM battery feed for more than 10 seconds.
Diagnostic Aids
If the condition is intermittent, move the related harnesses and connectors, with the engine operating, while monitoring the circuit status for the component with a scan tool. For an intermittent condition, refer to Intermittents. Intermittents
