P2105
DTC P2105: Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System - Forced Engine ShutdownCircuit Description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the throttle valve by applying a varying voltage to the control circuits of the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) motor. The ECM monitors the duty cycle that is required to actuate the throttle valve. The ECM monitors the Throttle Position (TP) sensors
1 and 2 to determine the actual throttle valve position.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
- Ignition ON.
- The ECM detects the system is in Forced Engine Shutdown Mode.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
- The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will illuminate.
- The ECM will record operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fail. This information will be stored in the Freeze Frame and Failure Records buffers.
- A history DTC is stored.
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
- The MIL will turn OFF after four consecutive validation cycle in which the diagnostic runs without a fault.
- A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm up cycles without a fault.
- The DTC(s) can be cleared by using the scan tool.
