GENERAL

Section Title: Control Systems
TSB No. TS 01 03077

Division: Automotive
Category: Technical

SUBJECT:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (WHEEL SENSOR ACTIVATION)

MODEL(S):
SX4 AND GRAND VITARA

YEAR:
2007

CONDITION:
Tire Pressure Wheel Sensor Activation No Longer Required at PDI.

CAUSE:
Grand Vitara, and SX4 TPMS Wheel Sensors will be activated prior to shipment to dealers.

CORRECTION:
Beginning with port shipments on March 12, 2007, TPMS Wheel Sensors will be activated on all Suzuki vehicles prior to arriving at dealerships. This includes SX4 and Grand Vitara, as well as XL7, Forenza, and Reno. (Note: Aeno models do not have TPMS.) Prior to this date activation by dealers was necessary on new Grand Vitara, and SX4 models only. After March 12 shipments, dealership service personnel will no longer need to activate TPMS wheel sensors on any 2007 Suzuki vehicle during PDI. PDI time allowances remain unchanged. However, dealerships are responsible to ensure the TPMS is working properly and the low tire pressure warning light is not ON" or Flashing. If this occurs, please refer to the appropriate Service Manual for proper diagnosis and servicing.

Tire pressures, for shipping purposes are over-inflated, to ensure a good bead seal, and prevent flat-spotting. Pressures must be adjusted during PDI. Be sure to set them according to the Tire Placard located inside the driver's front door.
