Advanced Air Bag
Enabling Air Bag System1. Confirm that battery negative (-) cable is disconnected.
2. Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" position and remove key.
3. Connect yellow connector (1) of driver air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
4. Connect yellow connector (1) of passenger air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
5. Install driver and passenger side front pillar lower trim.
6. Connect yellow connector (1) of side-air bag (inflator) module by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
7. Connect connector of side curtain-air bag (inflator) module and then install each trim as follows.
For hatchback model:
a. Connect yellow connector (1) by pushing connector till click is heard from it.
b. Install right-side rear quarter lower trim.
For sedan model with rear separate seat:
a. Connect black connector (1).
b. Lock connector with lock button (2).
c. Install rear pillar inner trim.
d. Install rear seat side back referring to Rear Seat Components.
e. Install rear side sill scuff.
For sedan model with rear bench seat:
a. Connect black connector (1).
b. Lock connector with lock button (2).
c. Install rear pillar inner trim.
d. Install seat cushion and seat back referring to Rear Seat Components
8. Install "A/B" fuse to fuse box.
9. Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
10. Turn ignition switch to ON position and verify that "AIR BAG" warning light flashes 6 times and then turns OFF. If it does not operate as described, perform Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag. Advanced Air Bag
