DTC Troubleshooting



1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Forward impact sensor circuit check

Disconnect applicable forward impact sensor connector "E40" or "E41".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-50" and "L04-51" (for DTC B1074) or terminals "L04-49" and "L04-48" (for DTC B1078).
Check for proper connection to applicable forward impact sensor connector at terminals in connector "E40" or "E41".
Measure resistance between "L04-50" and "E40-1" terminals, between "L04-51" and "E40-2" terminals (for DTC B1074).
Measure resistance between "L04-49" and "E41-1" terminals, between "L04-48" and "E41-2" terminals (for DTC B1078).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance 1 ohms or less?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Repair high resistance or open in defective circuit.

3. Forward impact sensor circuit check

With ignition turned ON, measure voltage between "L04-50" terminal and body ground, between "L04-51" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1074).
Measure voltage between "L04-49" terminal and body ground, between "L04-48" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1078).
Special Tool

Is each measured voltage 0 V?
YES
Replace forward impact sensor and recheck.
If DTC still detected replace SDM.
NO
Repair short to power supply circuit or other circuit in defective circuit.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
