DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Floor harness circuit check
Remove applicable driver-side / passenger-side rear side-air bag (inflator) module. Referring to Removal and Installation Rear Side-Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.
Check for proper connection to applicable rear side-air bag (inflator) module at terminal in connector "L260" or "L261".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminal "L04-23" and "L04-24" (for DTC B1233) or terminal "L04-25" and "L04-26" (for DTC B1067).
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Measure resistance between "L04-23" terminal and body ground, and between "L04-24" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1063).
Measure resistance between "L04-25" terminal and body ground, and between "L04-26" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1237).
Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO
DTC B1233: Repair "PPL/WHT" circuit or "PPL" circuit for short to ground at floor harness.
DTC B1237: Repair "BLU/RED" circuit or "BLK/RED" circuit for short to ground at floor harness.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
