DTC Troubleshooting



1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. OCM power supply and ground circuit check

Check OCM power supply and ground circuit referring to "OCM power supply and ground circuit check: Advanced air Bag".

Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Repair OCM power supply or ground circuit.

3. OCM circuit check

With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect OCM connector and SDM connector.
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminal "L04-42".
Check for proper connection to OCM connector at terminal "L08-1".
Measure resistance between "L04-42" and "L08-1" terminals.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is measured resistance 1ohms or less?
YES
Go to Step 4.
NO
Repair open or high resistance in defective circuit.

4. OCM circuit check

Measure resistance between "L04-42" terminal and body ground.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is resistance infinity?
YES
Go to Step 5.
NO
Repair short to ground in defective circuit.

5. OCM circuit check

With ignition switch turned ON, measure voltage between "L04-42" terminal and body ground.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured voltage 0 V?
YES
Go to Step 6.
NO
Repair short to power supply in defective circuit.

6. DTC check

Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch turned OFF.
Turn ON ignition switch and check SDM for DTC.

Is DTC B1317 still indicated?
YES
Replace seat cushion built in OCM with sensor mat referring to Seat Cushion Built in OCM with Sensor Mat Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag. If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO
Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent trouble referring to Inspection of Intermittent and Poor Connections:Advanced Air Bag
If OK, recheck SDM for DTC.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
