DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Driver-side / passenger-side curtain air bag circuit check
With ignition switch turned OFF, remove rear quarter upper trim (hatchback model [A]) or rear pillar inner trim (sedan model [B]) of applicable side and disconnect applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module connector.
Check for proper connection to applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module at terminals in connector "Q103" or "Q102" (hatchback model), "L291" or "L290" (sedan model).
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module connector.
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
(B): 09932-75010
(C): 09932-78310
Check SDM for DTC.
With ignition switch turned ON, is DTC B1361 or B1365 still indicated?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Replace curtain air bag (inflator) module referring to Removal and Installation Curtain Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.
3. Driver-side / passenger-side curtain air bag circuit check
Disconnect special tools from applicable curtain air bag connector.
With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminal "L04-19" and "L04-20" (for DTC B1361) or terminal "L04-21" and "L04-22" (for DTC B1365).
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Measure resistance at following connector terminals (for DTC B1361).
- Between "L04-19" and "Q103-2" terminals, between "L04-20" and "Q103-1" terminals. (hatchback model)
- Between "L04-19" and "L291-2" terminals, between "L04-20" and "L291-1" terminals. (sedan model)
Measure resistance at following connector terminals (for DTC B1365).
- Between "L04-21" and "Q102-1" terminals, between "L04-22" and "Q102-2" terminals. (hatchback model)
- Between "L04-21" and "L290-1" terminals, between "L04-22" and "L290-2" terminals. (sedan model)
Is each measured resistance 1ohms or less?
YES
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO
hatchback model: Go to Step 4.
sedan model:
Repair high resistance or open wire in "YEL/GRN" or "YEL/BLU" circuit at floor harness. (for DTC B1361)
Repair high resistance or open wire in "BLK/YEL" or "BRN/YEL" circuit at floor harness. (for DTC B1365)
4. Floor harness circuit check (hatchback model)
With ignition switch turned OFF, remove rear inner trim of right side and disconnect "L395" connector.
Check for proper connection to applicable curtain air bag at terminal in "L395" connector.
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Measure resistance between "L04-19" and "L395-4" terminals, between "L04-20" and "L395-3" terminals (for DTC B1361).
Measure resistance between "L04-21" and "L395-1" terminals, between "L04-22" and "L395-2" terminals (for DTC B1065).
Is each measured resistance 1ohms or less?
YES
DTC B1361: Repair high resistance or open wire in "YEL/GRN" or "YEL/BLU" circuit at driver-side curtain air bag harness.
DTC B1365: Repair high resistance or open wire in "BLK/YEL" or "BRN/YEL" circuit at passenger-side curtain air bag harness.
NO
