DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.
2. Rear side-impact sensor circuit check
Disconnect applicable rear side-impact sensor connector "L43" or "L44".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-29" and "L04-30" (for DTC B1392) or terminals "L04-31" and "L04-32" (for DTC B1397).
Check for proper connection to applicable rear side-impact sensor connector at terminals in connector "L43" or "L44".
Measure resistance between "L04-29" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1392) or between "L04-32" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1397).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Repair short to ground in defective circuit.
3. Rear side-impact sensor circuit check
Measure resistance between "L04-29" and "L04-30" terminals, between "L04-29" and "L04-31" terminals (for DTC B1392).
Measure resistance between "L04-32" and "L04-31" terminals, between "L04-32" and "L04-30" terminals (for DTC B1397).
Special Tool
(A): 09932-76010
Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES
Replace defective rear side-impact sensor and recheck.
If this DTC is still detected, replace SDM.
NO
Repair short to ground in defective circuit.
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
