DTC P0482

DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Wiring Diagram

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Keep engine at idle speed until engine coolant temperature reaches 110 °C (230 °F) or more.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check.

2. Wire harness check

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Check for proper terminal connection to A/C condenser cooling fan relay and ECM connectors.
If connections are OK, recheck DTC.

Is DTC P0482 detected again?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Intermittent trouble.

3. Circuit fuse check

Check "A/C" fuse (1) in fuse box No.1 with ignition switch turned OFF.

Is "A/C" fuse in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 4.
NO
Check for short in circuits connected to this fuse.

4. A/C condenser fan drive circuit voltage check

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect connectors from ECM.
Turn ignition switch ON position.
Check that A/C condenser cooling fan relay drive circuit voltage is battery voltage between ECM connector and vehicle body ground.

Is it in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO
Go to Step 5.

5. A/C condenser fan drive circuit voltage check

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Remove A/C condenser cooling fan relay.
Turn ignition switch ON position.
Check that A/C condenser cooling fan relay power supply voltage is battery voltage between A/C condenser cooling fan relay connector and vehicle body ground.

Is it in good condition?
YES
Go to Step 6.
NO
Repair or replace power supply circuit of A/C condenser cooling fan relay.

6. A/C condenser fan relay check

Check A/C condenser cooling fan relay for operation. Testing and Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES
Repair or replace drive circuit of A/C condenser cooling fan relay. If circuit is OK, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO
Replace A/C condenser cooling fan relay.
