DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Turn ignition switch to ON position.


1.
Was "CVT System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to CVT System Check.

2. Shift switch circuit check

Turn off ignition switch and connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC.
Turn ignition switch to ON position.
Check that following items are normal condition by using SUZUKI scan tool, when shifting select lever ("P", "R", "N", "D") to each range.
- Shift Down SW Scan Tool Testing and Procedures
- Shift Up SW Scan Tool Testing and Procedures
- Manual Mode SW Scan Tool Testing and Procedures

Are they in good condition?
YES
Check for intermittent trouble.
NO
Go to Step 3.

3. Manual mode shift switch circuit check

Turn off ignition switch and disconnect connectors from select lever and TCM.
If connections are OK, check that shift switch signal circuit (A1 - A3) are as follows.
- Insulation resistance between each shift switch signal circuit and vehicle body ground is infinity.
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between each shift switch signal circuit terminal and each terminal at select lever connector.

Are they in good condition?
YES
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
NO
Go to Step 4.

4. Manual mode shift switch check

Check manual model shift switch. Manual Mode Shift Switch Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck.
NO
Replace manual mode shift switch.
