DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Forward impact sensor circuit check

Disconnect applicable forward impact sensor connector "E40" or "E41".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-50" and "L04-51" (for DTC B1073) or terminals "L04-49" and "L04-48" (for DTC B1077).
Measure resistance between "L04-50" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1073) or between "L04-49" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1077).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair short to ground in defective circuit.

3. Forward impact sensor circuit check

Measure resistance between "L04-50" and "L04-51" terminals, between "L04-50" and "L04-48" terminals (for DTC B1073).
Measure resistance between "L04-49" and "L04-51" terminals, between "L04-49" and "L04-48" terminals (for DTC B1077).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Replace defective forward impact sensor, and recheck.
If this DTC is still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
Repair short to ground in defective circuit.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
