DTC Troubleshooting
1.
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check Engine and Emission Control System Check.
2. Accessory drive belt check
Check accessory drive belt for proper tension. Tension Inspection
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective part.
3. Generator control signal output circuit check
Turn OFF ignition switch and connectors from generator and ECM.
Check for proper terminal connection to generator connector and ECM connectors.
If connections are OK, check that generator control signal output circuit (A1) is as follows.
- Wiring harness resistance of generator control signal output circuit is less than 3 ohms.
- Insulation resistance between generator control signal output circuit and vehicle body ground is infinity.
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between generator control signal output circuit terminal and each other terminal at generator connector.
- Circuit voltage of generator control signal output circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.
Is it in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4. Repair or Replace generator. Generator Removal and Installation
Check DTC.
Is DTC P0620 still detected?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
NO -
End.
