Trouble shooting

1. SUZUKI scan tool communication check

Can SUZUKI scan tool communicate with BCM?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Step 3.

2. ABS hydraulic unit / control module assembly power supply and ground circuit check

Check that ABS hydraulic unit / control module assembly power supply circuit and ground circuit is in good condition referring to ABS Hydraulic Unit / Control Module Assembly Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check ABS Hydraulic Unit / Control Module Assembly Power Supply and Ground Circuit Check.

Are check results OK?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Repair ABS hydraulic unit / control module assembly power supply or ground circuit.

3. DLC power�supply source circuit check

Disconnect SUZUKI scan tool from DLC.
Check for proper connection to SUZUKI scan tool.
If OK then turn ignition switch to ON position, and measure voltage between terminal B of DLC and vehicle body ground.

Is voltage 10 - 12 V?
YES -
Go to Step 4.
NO -
Terminal B circuit open or shorted to ground.

4. DLC ground circuit check

Turn ignition switch to OFF position, and measure resistance between the following terminals:
- Terminal G of DLC and vehicle body ground.
- Terminal G1 of DLC and vehicle body ground.

Are resistance less than 2ohms?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Terminal G and/or G1 wire circuit open or high resistance.

5. Serial communication circuit check

Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Disconnect connectors of all control modules communicating by serial data circuit.
Check proper connection at serial data circuit terminals.
If OK, then check for high resistance, open or short to power circuit or ground in serial data circuit.

Is check result in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 6.
NO -
Repair serial data circuit and recheck.

6. CAN communication line circuit check

Disconnect connectors of all control modules communicating by means of CAN.
Check for proper connection to CAN communication line wire.
If OK then check CAN communication line circuit between control modules for open, short and high resistance.

Is each CAN communication line circuit in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ABS hydraulic unit / control module assembly and recheck.
NO -
Repair CAN communication line circuit and recheck.
