Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection

Removal

CAUTION:

Touching exhaust system components when they are still hot may cause burns.

Make sure the exhaust system has cooled down before removing the A/F sensor.

1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Remove condenser cooling fan.
- Manual A/C model: Removal and Installation
- Automatic A/C model: Removal and Installation
3) Remove exhaust manifold cover. Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation
4) Disconnect A/F sensor connector.
5) Remove A/F sensor (1) from exhaust manifold.

Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following.

- Tighten A/F sensor (1) to specified torque.

Tightening torque
A/F sensor (a): 45 Nm (4.5 kgf-m, 32.5 lbf-ft)
