DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Floor harness circuit check

Remove applicable driver-side / passenger-side rear side-air bag (inflator) module. Referring to Removal and Installation Front Side-Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to applicable rear side-air bag (inflator) module at terminal in connector "L260" or "L261".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminal "L04-23" and "L04-24" (for DTC B1234) or terminal "L04-25" and "L04-26" (for DTC B1238).
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

With ignition switch turned ON, measure voltage between "L04-23" terminal and body ground, and between "L04-24" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1234).
Measure voltage between "L04-25" terminal and body ground, and between "L04-26" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1238).






Is each measured voltage 0 V?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
DTC B1234: Repair "PPL/WHT" circuit or "PPL" circuit for short to power supply circuit at floor harness.
DTC B1238: Repair "BLU/RED" circuit or "BLK/RED" circuit for short to power supply circuit at floor harness.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
