DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Driver-side / passenger-side curtain air bag circuit check

With ignition switch turned OFF, remove rear quarter upper trim (hatchback model [A]) or rear pillar inner trim (sedan model [B]) of applicable side and disconnect applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module connector.
Check for proper connection to applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module at terminals in connector "Q103" or "Q102" (hatchback model), "L291" or "L290" (sedan model).
If OK, then connect special tools (A), (B) and (C) to applicable curtain air bag (inflator) module connector.

Check SDM for DTC.

With ignition switch turned ON, is DTC B1362 or B1366 still indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replace curtain air bag (inflator) module referring to Removal and Installation Curtain Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation:Advanced Air Bag.

3. Driver-side / passenger-side curtain air bag circuit check

Disconnect special tools from applicable curtain air bag connector.
With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminal "L04-19" and "L04-20" (for DTC B1362) or terminal "L04-21" and "L04-22" (for DTC B1366).
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

Measure resistance between "L04-19" and "L04-20" terminals (for DTC B1362) and between "L04-21" and "L04-22" terminals (for DTC B1366).






Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NO -
Hatchback model: Go to Step 4.
Sedan model:
Repair "YEL/GRN" circuit for short to "YEL/BLU" circuit at floor harness. (for DTC B1362)
Repair "BLK/YEL" circuit for short to "BRN/YEL" circuit at floor harness. (for DTC B1366)

4. Floor harness circuit check (hatchback model)

With ignition switch turned OFF, remove rear inner trim of right side and disconnect "L395" connector.
Check for proper connection to applicable curtain air bag at terminal in "L395" connector.
If OK, release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool (1) included in special tool (A).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

Measure resistance between "L04-19" and "L04-20" terminals (for DTC B1362) and between "L04-21" and "L04-22" terminals (for DTC B1366).






Is each measured resistance infinity?
YES -
DTC B1362: Repair "YEL/GRN" circuit for short to "YEL/BLU" circuit at driver-side curtain air bag harness.
DTC B1366: Repair "BLK/YEL" circuit for short to "BRN/YEL" circuit at passenger-side curtain air bag harness.
NO -
DTC B1362: Repair "YEL/GRN" circuit for short to "YEL/BLU" circuit at floor harness.
DTC B1366: Repair "BLK/YEL" circuit for short to "BRN/YEL" circuit at floor harness.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components, ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
