DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow:Advanced Air Bag.

2. Rear side-impact sensor circuit check

Disconnect applicable rear side-impact sensor connector "L43" or "L44".
Disconnect SDM connector "L04".
Check for proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L04-29" and "L04-30" (for DTC B1393) or terminals "L04-31" and "L04-32" (for DTC B1398).
Check for proper connection to applicable rear side-impact sensor connector at terminals in connector "L43" or "L44".
Measure resistance between "L04-29" and "L43-2" terminals, between "L04-30" and "L43-1" terminals (for DTC B1393).
Measure resistance between "L04-32" and "L44-2" terminals, between "L04-31" and "L44-1" terminals (for DTC B1398).
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Is each measured resistance 1 ohms or less?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair open in defective circuit.

3. Rear side-impact sensor circuit check

With ignition turn ON, measure voltage between "L04-29" terminal and body ground, between "L04-30" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1393).
Measure voltage between "L04-31" terminal and body ground, between "L04-32" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1398).
Special Tool

Is each measured voltage 0 V?
YES -
Replace rear side-impact sensor and recheck.
If DTC still detected, replace SDM.
NO -
Repair short to power supply circuit or other circuit in defective circuit.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance:Advanced Air Bag
, if any.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check:Advanced Air Bag
to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
