DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Wiring Diagram

Refer to P0711 DTC P0711.

DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.

- Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
- Perform the test extremely carefully.
- Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.

NOTE:

- If DTC other than aimed DTC are previously detected in DTC confirmation procedure, be sure to troubleshoot DTC previously detected.
- Check that the following conditions are satisfied when using this procedure.

- Battery voltage > 10.5 V

1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Drive vehicle more than 20 km/h (12 mile/h) for 20 sec.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "CVT System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to CVT System Check CVT System Check.

2. CVT fluid temperature sensor circuit check

Turn off ignition switch and disconnect TCM and solenoid connectors.
Check for proper terminal connection to TCM and solenoid connectors.
If connections are OK, check that CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit (A1) and ground circuit (A2) are as follows.
- Wiring harness resistance of CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit and ground circuit is less than 1 ohms.
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit terminal and terminal at solenoid connector.
- Circuit voltage of CVT fluid temperature sensor signal circuit and ground circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

3. CVT fluid temperature sensor check

Check CVT fluid temperature sensor. Testing and Inspection

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck.
NO -
Replace CVT fluid temperature sensor (valve body assembly).
