Oil Pump Assembly Removal and Installation

Oil Pump Assembly Components

NOTE:

Removing the sprocket and inner rotor from the oil pump may damage the oil pump center shaft, resulting in abnormal operation of the oil pump.

Do not remove the sprocket and inner rotor from the oil pump.

Removal

1) Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2) Drain engine oil.
3) Remove oil pan and oil pump strainer. Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Removal and Installation
4) Remove baffle plate from lower crank case (1).
5) Remove oil pump sprocket cover (2).





6) Remove oil pump (2) with sprocket from lower crank case (1).






Installation

Oil Pump Assembly Disassembly and Reassembly
1) Install oil pump (2) and baffle plate to lower crank case (1) and tighten bolts to specified torque.

NOTE:
When installing oil pump, be careful not to allow pins to fall off.

Tightening torque
Oil pump mounting bolt (a): 25 Nm (2.5 kgf-m, 18.5 lbf-ft)
Baffle plate bolt (M6 bolt) 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Baffle plate bolt (M10 bolt) 55 Nm (5.6 kgf-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)





2) Install oil pump sprocket cover (1), and tighten bolts to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Oil pump sprocket cover bolt (a): 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)





3) Install oil pan and oil pump strainer. Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Removal and Installation
4) Refill engine with engine oil. Service and Repair
5) Connect negative cable at battery.
6) Verify that there is no oil leakage and exhaust gas leakage at each connection.
7) After completing installation, check oil pressure by running engine. Refer to Testing and Inspection Oil Pressure Check.
