Front Suspension Frame, Stabilizer Bar and/or Bush Removal and Installation (4WD Model)
Front Suspension Frame, Stabilizer Bar and/or Bush Components
WARNING:
If the front suspension frame is not stably supported on a transmission jack or other supporting equipment during its installation, the frame could drop and cause personal injury.
Make sure that the weight of the front suspension frame is supported at the frame's center and that the frame is well balanced on the support.
NOTE:
If you are not careful when removing and installing the suspension arm, the drive shaft dust cover and brake dust cover may damage the dust boots of the suspension arm joints.
Remove and install the suspension arm carefully, so you do not damage the dust boots.
Removal
1) Remove suspension arms referring to Suspension Arm Removal and Installation Suspension Arm Removal and Installation.
2) Remove front suspension frame, steering gear case assembly and transfer all together referring to Removal and Replacement Transfer Dismounting and Remounting.
3) Remove steering gear case assembly from front suspension frame.
4) Remove stabilizer bar (1) with stabilizer bush from front suspension frame (2).
Installation
Front Suspension Frame Check
NOTE:
The front suspension frame bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If these bolts are reused, they may work loose.
Be sure to replace the front suspension frame bolts with new ones whenever they are removed.
Install front suspension frame by reversing removal procedure, noting the following instruction.
- Tighten all fasteners to specified torque referring to Front Suspension Front Suspension Construction.
