Transmission Identification
Transmissions by be identified by transmission number and by construction.

Identification Number
The transmission number, located on the bottom of the case or intermediate plate, will help determine the production date of the unit in order to obtain correct replacement parts.
- The first number indicates the last digit of the year of manufacture.
- The second and third numbers indicate the month of manufacture. (01 through 12)
- The last five digits are the Production number (2 digits for some models.)

Visual Identification
Construction differences between models are best determined by visual comparison of case construction. Refer to Diagrams/Exploded Views for illustrations of transmission models.
