Policy - Warranty Reimbursement on Parts

NO. 85-12
DATE May 21, 1985
REF.

SUBJECT: AISIN, AKEBONO*, AND NDLA REMANUFACTURED PARTS

A claim with an Aisin, Akebono*, and NDLA remanufactured part that is paid on or after June 1, 1985 will be subject to the following reimbursement procedures:

Parts

^ Parts will be reimbursed using the exchange price, which is equal to the dealer price minus core value. The markup will be applied to the exchange price.

^ Cores involved with a warranty repair will no longer go through the Warranty Parts Return Program. The core value of the part will be reimbursed to the dealer using the procedure outlined in the attached PART BULLETIN #RM1016 (i.e., Return Warranty cores along with regular cores, with the warranty tag attached. Parts must be returned in a remanufactured parts box).

Labor

^ 100% reimbursement will be given on labor as indicated in the Flat Rate Manual.

From June 1, 1985 to August 31, 1985, the TMS Warranty Department will adjust all claims that are not prepared as described above to the appropriate exchange price.

After August 31, 1985, claims submitted without using the appropriate exchange prices will be returned to the dealer for corrections.

NOTE: Remanufactured part numbers have the number "84" in the last two digits (11th and 12th) of the part number (i.e., 28100-XXXXX-84).

* Remanufactured brake calipers (Akebono) used for out-of-warranty repairs and service part warranty claims only. (Ref: Warranty Bulletin 85-13)
