TITLE SEAT BELT REPLACEMENT
This TSB has been prepared as a general guideline for determining if occupant seat belts should be replaced.
1. Seat belt assemblies should be replaced if any of the following conditions exist.
^ The seat belt webbing is cut or frayed or the fibers become broken and fluffed.
^ Metal or structural plastic parts of the seat belt system are found to be cracked or deformed.
^ The seat belt was in use during a traffic accident even though obvious damage is not present.
Warning Label:
^ The seat belt warning label under the anchor and sleeve is exposed..
(Note:) Not all Toyota vehicles are equipped with this type of warning label. Therefore it may be necessary to replace a seat belt even when no label has been exposed due to a severe impact.
2. Always replace the entire seat belt system including both belt and tongue ends.
