Recall - Rear Seat Belt Guides Renotification

RE-NOTIFICATION OF SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN - K04
(1982-1988 LANDCRUISER REAR SEAT LAP BELT GUIDES)
During June 1995 owners of approximately 14,000 non-completed vehicles involved in Special Service Campaign K04 will be renotified to have the rear seat lap belt modified with an improved lap belt guide on model year 1982 through 1988 Landcruisers.
Under certain circumstances, the rear seat lap belt may not return to the fully retracted position after use. Consequently, due to the characteristics of the automatic locking retractor, the belt locks and cannot be pulled out for subsequent use.
You are required, using the following information, to replace the outboard rear seat lap belt guide with an improved design on the non-completed vehicles involved in this campaign, including any used vehicles currently in your stock.

Note:
Although the involved vehicles are within the above VIN ranges, not all vehicles in these ranges were imported to the United States.
Please refer to the enclosed special service campaign dealer/owner list (K04). The list contains the vehicle identification number and the most recently available vehicle owner's name and address (except in California) for each non-completed vehicle involved in this campaign in your Primary Market Area; where available a telephone number has been included. Please use this to contact the vehicle owners and perform the necessary repair.
