Electronic Control System

1. Ensure that ignition switch is in off position or battery ground cable is disconnected prior to disconnecting electrical connectors. Before removing battery ground cable, access trouble codes. ECU memory will be erased if ground cable is removed.
2. Do not short circuit or ground electrical terminals unless specified in testing procedures.
3. Do not allow water to enter electrical connectors or components.
4. To prevent damage to the system, fully release locks prior to disconnecting electrical connectors, and ensure that connectors are fully seated and that all insulators and shields are in place when installing components.
5. Do not pierce wire insulation when performing circuit tests. Insert tester probes into rear (wire side) of connectors in order to access terminals.
