A/C - 'O' Ring Inspection and Fitting Torque

TITLE: AIR CONDITIONER "O" RING FITTINGS
CONDITION:
Air Conditioner not cooling.
POSSIBLE CAUSE:
Refrigerant (R-12) leaking from line connections.
CORRECTION:
Inspect, oil and install Air Conditioner "O" rings and tighten fittings to recommended torque specifications per attached "O" RING FITTINGS installation chart. Please note that overtightening will cause "O" ring to deform and cause refrigerant (R-12) to leak.
ALWAYS USE TORQUE WRENCH TO TIGHTEN FITTINGS.
AIR CONDITIONING "O" RING FIITINGS INSTALLATION
To insure maximum reliability, it is recommended these steps be followed during the installation of all Nippondenso A/C Kits into TOYOTA vehicles.
PLEASE INSPECT ALL PARTS AND YOUR WORK.
STANDARD TOROUE A/C O-RING FITTINGS
1. Inspect hose/tube for damage.
2. Inspect O-ring for deformity, foreign material and correct positioning.
3. Lubricate O-ring only. Use SAE recommended A/C oil = 500 viscosity
4. Place fitting ends together before tightening nut.
5. Finger tighten nut.
6 Torque to proper specification.
