WIRING CONNECTION FOR GRAPHIC EQUALIZER (08692-00025):

Wiring Connections for Graphic Equalizer:

CONDITION

1986 factory installed two speaker MPX and combo audio units will not operate when the graphic equalizer is installed.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Equalizer wiring connections are not compatible with all 1986 factory installed audio units.

CORRECTION

Installation of an adapter harness (P/N 00019-08692) between the graphic equalizer (P/N 08692-00025) and the vehicle harness according to the application chart shown below.

For additional application and connecting data please consult the attached matrix. Note that there may be a difference in connecting data depending on whether the audio unit is a two speaker (2SP) or a four speaker (4SP) system.
This is a temporary countermeasure. The graphic equalizer/power amplifier (08692-00025) wiring will be changed shortly, and the additional connector (00019-08692) will not be needed.
