Air Injection: Testing and Inspection

1. Refer to Fig. 31 for operating conditions of the Air Injection System.

2. Visually check hoses and tubes for cracks, kinks, damage or loose connections.
3. With the engine cold, below 10°C (50°F), disconnect the air by-pass hose from the Air Suction Valve (ASV). There should be no air coming out of the ASV, Fig. 33

4. Warm the engine to operating temperature. With the engine speed held at 2000 RPM or higher, check the ASV. There should be air exiting the valve, Fig. 32. If the system performs as indicated, all the components are OK.
