Fig. 42 Speed Sensor Test:

1. Jack up the rear wheels to clear ground and block the front wheels.
2. Release the parking brake and set the shift lever into the neutral position.
3. Unplug the wiring connector from the EFI ECU, whish is located behind the glove box.
4. Place the positive (+) terminal of the ohmmeter on the wiring connector, Fig. 42 terminal and the negative (-) terminal on ground.
5. Turn the rear wheel and check that the ohmmeter deflects consistently.
CAUTION: The ohmmeter probe should be inserted from the rear side of the connector only.
6. If the ohmmeter needle does not deflect, check that the speed sensor terminals at the back side of the speedometer are properly connected. If the connection is proper, replace the speedometer assembly.
7. Reconnect the wiring connector to the computer.
