Signal Generator Pick-Up Coils
***UPDATED BY TSB# EN91-007, JUNE 1991Pick-up Coil Connector:
1. Disconnect the wiring connector near the distributor.
2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals NE and G-.
NE Pickup Coil Resistance: 155 - 240 ohms
3. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals G1 and G-.
G1 Pickup Coil Resistance: 125 - 190 ohms
4. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals G2 and G-.
G2 Pickup Coil Resistance: 125 - 190 ohms
Pick-up Coil Air Gap:
5. Using a non-magnetic feeler gauge, measure the gap between the signal rotor and pickup coil projection.
Air Gap: 0.008 - 0.016 in (0.2 - 0.4 mm)
NOTE: The air gap is not adjustable. If any of the above tests reveal a pick-up coil outside specifications, replace the distributor assembly.
