Cold Start Injector: Service and Repair
REMOVAL:1. Disconnect negative battery terminal and disconnect the Cold Start Injector connector.
2. Put a suitable container under the Cold Start Injector to catch any gasoline that escapes.
3. Remove the union bolt and two gaskets from the injector.
Removing The Union Bolt From The Cold Start Injector:
5. Remove the two injector mounting bolts.
Removing The Cold Start Injector Mounting Bolts:
6. Remove the Cold Start Injector and gasket.
INSTALLATION:
1. Install a new gasket under the Cold Start Injector.
2. Install the injector and torque the mounting bolts to 9 ft.lbs. (12 N-m).
3. Connect the injector fuel tube to the clamp. Install the injector tube with two new gaskets and the union bolt.
4. Torque the union bolt to 14 ft.lbs. (19 N-m). DO NOT overtighten the union bolt.
5. Reconnect Cold Start Injector connector.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
