Transmission Control Systems: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
This automatic transmission uses an electronic overdrive system. No other electronic controls are provided.


OPERATION
When overdrive is requested via the main switch, power is applied to the overdrive solenoid. Once energized, the solenoid allows fluid to flow through the valve body to allow overdrive when the vehicle reaches a preset speed. No provision for self-diagnosis exists.
