Vehicle Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

NO. 1 Speed Sensor Inspection








1. Connect the positive lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative lead to terminal 2.

2. Connect the positive lead from the voltmeter to terminal 3 and negative lead to terminal 1.

3. Check that the voltage changes from battery voltage to less than two volts four times per each revolution of the speed sensor shaft.

If operation is not as specified, replace the sensor.
