Sub Oxygen Sensor
INSPECTIONSub Oxygen Sensor Heater Resistance Inspection
1. Using an ohmmeter measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT.
Resistance: 11 - 16 ohms at 20°C (68°F).
2. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor.
Sub Heated Oxygen Sensor Inspection
NOTE: Perform inspection only if DTC 27 is stored.
1. Cancel DTC 27. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
2. Warm engine up to operating temperature.
3. Drive vehicle:
^ Manual transmission: drive for five minutes at a speed of less than 80 km/h (50 mph) in 4th or 5th gear.
^ Automatic transmission: drive for five minutes at a speed of less than 80 km/h (50 mph) in D position.
4. Following conditions in step 3 above, fully depress the accelerator pedal for two seconds or more.
5. Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition OFF.
6. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 again to test acceleration.
If DTC 27 appears again, check the Sub Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit. If the circuit is normal, replace the Sub Heated Oxygen Sensor.
