Maintenance Precautions

1. Check engine for correct state of tune.
2. When connecting Diagnostic Equipment the following precautions should be taken:
^ Use the battery as the power source for the timing light, tachometer, etc.
^ Connect the tester probe of a tachometer to terminal IGG of the data link connector 1.
3. In the event of engine misfire, the following precautions should be taken:
^ Check proper connection of battery terminals, etc.
^ Handle high-tension cords carefully.
^ After repair work, check that the ignition coil terminals and all other ignition system lines are reconnected securely.
^ When cleaning the engine compartment. be especially careful to protect the electrical system from water.
4. When handling oxygen sensor the following precautions should be taken:
^ Do not allow the oxygen sensor to drop or hit against an object.
^ Do not allow the sensor to come in contact with water.
