Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE: On models with coded audio anti-theft systems, refer to Technician Safety Information for code procedures.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Disarm airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove steering column upper and lower covers.
3. Disconnect ignition switch electrical connectors.
4. Turn ignition key to ACC position, then remove ignition key cylinder.
5. Remove ignition switch attaching screws, then remove.
6. Reverse to install, then rearm airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information. If audio system was disabled, activate as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
